Nausea, Diarrhea
On Wednesday Oct 12 my wife developed food poisoning which lasted for a further 3 days. We suspected it was the Greek yogurt. Some days earlier she bought 3 cartons with expiry dates of Oct 23 & I noticed after she had been taken ill that the... See More 2 unopened cartons had now swelled up - pushing up the plastic lids.
At about the same time we noticed that a litre of Coverdale long lasting milk with an expiry date of
Oct 26 had also gone off. At all times these products have been stored in our fridge.
I noticed on Saturday on the internet that a report had already been made concerning greek yogurt in Dorset.
Today we took these items to the store & I am glad to say that there was no problem over a refund.
I am however concerned that somewhere along the line these products have been properly stored by them. It may have been during delivery or a breakdown in the store freezer. The earlier report of yogurt stated it was Dorset (not the store) so I would suggest the problem arose somewhere along the transport delivery.
I hope you will be able trace the problem, to enable you to minimise risks in future | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea See Less

MF Meats is recalling approximately 93,277 pounds of raw meat products due to potential contamination with a non-food grade substance, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The products were shipped to restaurants in New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. There have... See More been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
The recalled products include various weights of meat cuts and ground meat (list attached below), The products display Julian dates of 330-365 (November 26 - December 31) and 1-47 (January 1 - February 16). The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “EST. 569” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The problem was discovered after the firm received four complaints from restaurants reporting a chemical taste in the meat products. An investigation revealed that the firm's mineral oil supplier had mistakenly sent a drum containing non-food grade mineral seal oil labeled as food grade mineral oil. This non-food grade mineral seal oil was applied to food contact surfaces, not directly to the meat products.

El Chilar Rodriguez LLC of Apopka, FL is recalling 127 cases (12 bags/case) of El Chilar Ground Cinnamon “Canela Molida” (1.25 oz bag), because it may contain traces of lead. The product was distributed by La Raza LLC, 8795 D'Arcy Rd, Forestville, MD 20747, which distributes to... See More brick-and-mortar retail stores within the state of Maryland. No illnesses have been reported to date.
Short term exposures to very low levels of lead may not elicit any symptoms. It is possible that increased blood lead levels may be the only apparent sign of lead exposure. Additional signs and symptoms of lead exposure are more likely with acute exposure to higher levels of lead or chronic exposure to lead. While lead can affect nearly every bodily system, its effects depend upon the amount and duration of lead exposure and age/ body weight. If a child is exposed to enough lead for a protracted period of time (e.g., weeks to months) permanent damage to the central nervous system may occur. This can result in learning disorders, developmental defects, and other long-term health problems. For adults, chronic lead exposure is associated with kidney dysfunction, hypertension, and neurocognitive effects. Lead can cause serious health problems if too much is ingested, such as damage to the brain and kidneys, and can interfere with the production of red blood cells that carry oxygen to all parts of your body.
The product can be identified by the lot codes D300 EX1024 and F272 EX1026, which is stamped on the front side of the packaging (see attached example).
The recall was initiated after the Maryland Department of Health collected product samples and analysis came back with elevated concentrations of lead. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem might be caused by potentially adulterated raw material from the supplier.
Consumers who have purchased El Chilar Ground Cinnamon “Canela Molida” with lot code D300 EX1024 and F272 EX1026 are urged to stop using the product immediately and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Parents and caregivers of toddlers and young children who may have been exposed to lead should contact their health care provider to report their symptoms and receive care.
If you are experiencing symptoms after eating this product it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist seek medical attention.
