A salmonella outbreak has been linked to charcuterie meats sold nationwide under various brands, including Aldi, Beretta, Black Bear, Busseto, Culinary Tour, Dietz and Watson, Lidl, Publix, and Salumi Artigianali. As of February 15, 2024, 87 people across 30 states have fallen ill, with 18 hospitalizations reported.... The outbreak is currently under active investigation, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), public health and regulatory officials in several states, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS) involved. The charcuterie meat products from Fratelli Beretta have been identified as the source of the infections. Since the last update, 40 more illnesses have been reported. Illnesses started on dates ranging from November 20, 2023, to January 20, 2024. No deaths have been reported.
