The Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation (MAPAQ) announced the recall of François Lambert Garlic Flower Pesto because it has not been prepared and packaged in such a way as to ensure its safety. This product could promote the proliferation of Clostridium botulinum bacteria. This product was sold by FrançoisLambert.One inc. at 1270 montée Sainte-Madeleine, Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix (online store).The recalled product is:
- François Lambert Garlic Flower Pesto (PESTO À LA FLEUR D'AIL ), 250 ml, Units sold until July 6, 2023. The product was packaged in a glass jar and sold at room temperature.
If you have the recalled product in your home, please do not consume it. Please return it to the place of purchase.
Although the affected product does not show signs of spoilage or suspect odor, it could still be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum bacteria. Foods contaminated with this bacterium's toxin can cause the following symptoms when ingested: facial paralysis, unresponsive or fixed pupils, difficulty swallowing, drooping eyelids, blurred vision and slurred speech. In severe cases, the disease can cause death.
