Gerber® has issued a recall for its Oat Banana & Mango Baby Cereal due to potential contamination with Cronobacter spp. The product was distributed online and in several provinces including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and possibly other provinces and territories.Cronobacter may not alter the look or smell of the food but can cause serious or fatal infections. It can cause rare bloodstream and central nervous system infections and has been associated with severe intestinal infection (necrotizing enterocolitis) and blood poisoning (sepsis), especially in newborns.
The affected product is Gerber Oat Banana & Mango Baby Cereal 227g size with the UPC 0 65000 13361 5 and code 2025 MA 30 3334007809, is being removed from the marketplace.
Consumers are advised not to consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled products. If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, contact your healthcare provider.
