Great Value Apple Juice produced by Refresco Beverages US Inc, has been recalled due to elevated levels of inorganic arsenic. The product was distributed to retail locations in AL, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, PR, RI, SC, TN, VA, VT, and WV.The product under recall is the Great Value 8oz Apple Juice in a 6 pack, labeled as 100% Juice. It is packaged in 8 oz. PET plastic bottles with the UPC 0-78742-29655-5. The product is best used by December 28, 2024, with the batch code CT89-6. A total of 9535 cases have been recalled.
The recall was initiated voluntarily by the firm after the detection of inorganic arsenic above the action level set in industry guidance (13.2ppb). The status of the recall is ongoing.
