Ineligible Pork Products recalled due to Imported Illegaly From Ecuador

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for frozen pork mortadella products, potentially illegally imported from Ecuador, a country not approved to export meat to the U.S. Were distributed to retail and distributor locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. The issue was discovered during FSIS surveillance activities at a warehouse, where they found mortadella bologna products without the USDA mark of inspection. The FSIS is continuing its investigation into the origins of these products.

The products in question are:
- 1-lb. vacuum-sealed packages of "Mortadela ESPECIAL BOLOGNIA."
- These items lack an establishment number or the USDA mark of inspection and

Consumers are advised to not consumer the product and to return them to where they purchased them.
