The New York's Department of Agriculture and Markets announced a recall of skewered pepper by Issowazena market due to undeclared peanuts. This product was sold from the retail store Issowazena African Market in the Bronx.The recalled product is:
- Skewered pepper powder, comes in a small plastic bottle of approximately 400 g and also 370 g. Packages are dated as exp. 29/12/2025, exp. 10/6/2024, and some bottles lack expiration date.
The misbranding was discovered after routine testing by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of peanuts. The sale of the product has been suspended while the company continues its investigation as to the source of the problem.
If you have an allergy to peanuts do not eat it, it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction. Please throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
