More than 30,000 pounds of ground beef recalled over Salmonella concerns in California

The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that approximately 34,222 pounds of ground beef products are being recalled by Central Valley Meat Co., Inc because they may be contaminated with Salmonella Dublin.FSIS advises consumers who have purchased these products not to consume them. These should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
The recalled products were distributed to retail locations in California. They bear establishment number “EST. 6063A” on the retail labels next to the lot number and inside the USDA mark of inspection on the case labels. The recalled products are the following:
- Stater Bros. 100% pure ground beef 96% lean 4% fat. 1-lb. chub package. Lot code 2049 (retail label). Lot code 19204 (case label). Use By 08-14-19.
- Stater Bros. 100% pure ground beef 93% lean 7% fat. 2-lb. chub package. Lot code 2049 (retail label). Lot code 19204 (case label). Use By 08-14-19.
- Stater Bros 93/7 ground beef 10# Chub 10 Lb. Chubs/ 2 Count. Lot code 19204 (case label). Use By 08-14-19.
These recall initiated after one person that reported being sick with Salmonella advised they have consumed ground beef by Central Valley. This person is part of an ongoing Salmonella outbreak and you can read more on our news section.
