Pan-African Food Distributors Products recalled due to Rodent Contamination

9 months ago source fda.gov

United States

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning to consumers, retailers, and distributors against consuming, selling, or serving products from Pan-African Food Distributors Inc., also known as East Africa Boutique LLC. The recall is due to potential contamination of various ready-to-eat and shelf-stable food items, including infant nutritional cereals and baking ingredients, from unsanitary conditions. Products were distributed nationwide in the United States. Products may or may not include a label with the firm name.

The recall was initiated on May 23, 2025, and is currently classified as a public health safety concern. FDA inspections remain ongoing.

The issue was identified during a May 2025 FDA inspection that found an active rodent infestation and numerous droppings at the distributor’s Louisville, Kentucky, facility.
