Crawford Sausage Co., Inc. has issued a public health alert for its headcheese deli meat products due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The issue was identified during an ongoing illness outbreak investigation in Illinois. An unopened product sample tested positive for Listeria. The affected products were distributed to retail deli locations in Illinois and Indiana in USA.

AFFECTED PRODUCT

PRODUCT: “DAISY BRAND Meat Products HEADCHEESE”
- Various weight packages packed or sliced in retail delis
- With a “USE BY” date of “MAR 26 2026.”

PRODUCT: “DAISY BRAND Meat Products HEADCHEESE”
- Various weight packages packed or sliced in retail delis
- With a red sticker indicating “HOT” and a “USE BY” date of “MAR 26 2026.”

The products can be identified by establishment number ‘EST. 21406’ printed inside the USDA inspection mark. The alert was announced on May 9, 2026, and the investigation is being led by Illinois health authorities with FSIS involvement.
