Recall notice

The Foodie Market Milled Brown Flaxseed - recalled due to the presence of Salmonella

3 years ago source fsai.ie

Ireland

The FSAI announced the recall of the below batch of The Foodie Market Milled Brown Flaxseed by Aldi due to the detection of Salmonella Typhimurium. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in Aldi stores supplied with the implicated batch.

The recalled product is:
- The Foodie Market Milled Brown Flaxseed (200 g). Batch code: L131315; best before date: end of January 2023.

People infected with Salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between 6 and 72 hours. The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody. Other symptoms may include fever, headache and abdominal cramps. The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days. Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission. The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have more severe illness.

Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batch. Please throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.

In case you are experiencing Salmonella symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever or listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
