Recall notice

TorTrix Con Chicharrón - recalled due to Ineligible country of import (Guatemala)

2 years ago source fsis.usda.gov

United States

The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 13,771 pounds of imported ready-to-eat pork rind products by DEKA Trading Corp., because the products were imported from Guatemala, a country ineligible to export meat products to the United States. These products were shipped to wholesale and retail locations in Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Virginia. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

The recalled product is
- 5.3 oz. (150g) foil pouch packages containing "TorTrix Con Chicharrón.". The product does not bear an establishment number nor a USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities. Guatemala is not eligible to import meat products into the United States.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers' pantries. If you have the recalled product in your home, please do not eat it, throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
