I used ground beef same day I purchased it. Sell by date was 5 days in the future. I didn't notice bad smell. I did notice when I flipped the meat out of the package that the underside had some discoloration , which I have known from looking into it in the past is just from oxygen getting in the package and is not cause for concern. I broke the meat up as I was cooking it and there was light discoloration inside too but I've seen that before so not concerned. 3 hours after eating it my daughter and I were projectile vomiting.
