Lucky Charms Illness Alert - Lucky Charms, Atlanta Georgia

3 years ago reported by user-dwcyg745 business

Aurora Coffee, Moreland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA, USA

468 Moreland Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, 30307 Georgia, United States

On 4/4/22, my son consumed a Lucky Charms dry cereal serving at local cafe, About an hour and a half later he experienced dizziness and three bouts of violent vomiting. It was odd because that was all he’d eaten, he’s healthy. Discovered the article (also mentions an occurrence in Georgia) about issues with Lucky Charms and decided to follow up.   After I read the article about reports of illnesses related to the consumption of Lucky Charms cereal,  I copied and pasted it to the cafe to inform them of the incident in case they were unaware of it. I don’t want this to happen to other people. There’s a reason we don’t purchase the product, but we were at the coffee shop and my son found it appealing. The episode occurred out of the blue while we were in a record shop. “Luckily” only the floor was damaged but it was embarrassing, to say the least, for a teenager, to be unable to reach the exit from the back of the store without leaving a vomit trail and almost fainting on the sidewalk. It’s not the cafe’s fault, but if they knowingly serve a product that is causing food poisoning, there’s definitely an issue. If the company knowingly sells a faulty product, the issue needs to be addressed and the cereal needs to be removed until consumers can be guaranteed a safe product. Thanks for listening.

I don’t have the packaging or receipt for the serving of Lucky Charms. In the cafe, it was packaged in a plastic cup with a plastic lid, one that would be used to serve an 8 ounce sized cold drink. It looks like the cereal servings were poured from a cereal box into the cup and sealed with a plastic lid. Servings were placed next to cafe treats on the cafe service counter. It’s the first and last time purchasing the product. In hindsight and in my opinion, it doesn’t seem safe that servings were sold in that manner and not in individual boxes. | Symptoms: Vomiting, Dizziness
