Açaí Bowl Plastic Fragments - Plastic in Food, Gilbert Arizona

2 days ago reported by user-gtkgp333 business

Better Buzz Coffee Gilbert, South Val Vista Drive, Gilbert, AZ, USA

2333 South Val Vista Drive, Gilbert, 85295 Arizona, United States

On May 10, 2026, multiple rigid plastic fragments were discovered in an açaí bowl purchased from the Better Buzz Coffee location in Gilbert, Arizona. The fragments were retained and photographed with measurements (All fragments measured 2.50 mm in thickness; ridged surface geometry visible). My daughter, age 14, removed them before swallowing; she was not injured. The fragment characteristics: Opaque white in color, uniform thickness, ridged structure, consistent staining from contact with product, suggest origin from a food preparation component, possibly a blender or mixer with degraded plastic internal parts. Better Buzz operates multiple locations and presumably uses standardized equipment across the chain. If the source is a vendor-supplied component, other locations may be affected. I contacted Better Buzz corporate support multiple times over nine days via web form, email, and phone. I received one automated reply and no substantive response. The incident has been reported to Maricopa County Environmental Services under complaint #CC22658. The originating equipment or component has not been identified to my knowledge. No vendor recall or chain-wide notification has been issued that I am aware of.
