Yesterday I had the original chicken sandwich meal with fries and Chick-Fil-A sauce and a diet lemonade for lunch at about 12:45pm. I noticed half way into eating the sandwich that it tasted really salty, the salt was overpowering to the sandwich flavor. I felt okay after eating but when returning to work I felt very bloated and full, like the food was just sitting in the top of my stomach. I got off of work at 4:00pm and still felt very full, bloated, queasy, and was burping a lot. I stopped at a local store to pick up a few groceries and had to use the bathroom in the store. It was a normal bowel movement and not diarrhea. Hoping that would make me feel better, it did not. As soon as I got home at about 5:00 pm I felt nauseous and my stomach was cramping and began projectile vomitting in the bathroom. I began to have severe chills and could not get warm. My teeth were chattering at times. The vomitting lasted for about 3 episodes of over the next few hours until nothing was left in my stomach but the deep bile from the bottom of the gut. Then I began to have diarrhea, which would come on every 20 minutes through the course of the night. Every time I drank some water to rehydrate, it would go right through me and I had to run to the bathroom. I didn't sleep very well last night and kept my nightstand light on all night and my cat stayed curled up beside comforted me in bed. I think the chills were the worst part. I had on fleece sweat pants, 2 shirts, a hooded fleece robe and my covers and an extra blanket and I still felt cold. When I got out of bed at about 6:00am I took my temperature and it was 100.00. My neck and head were sweaty too. I had no further vomiting and just did one bowel movement after I got up and it was not as bad/runny as last night. My body felt so weak upon waking and my legs and back felt so sore, like I had walked for miles. It hurt to walk around my apartment. I have eaten Saltine crackers today and Gatorade and went to the doctor and was told it was a stomach bug/virus and to keep hydrated. I was sick with bronchitis and a cold for a few weeks, that started back on Christmas Eve, and what's left is a lingering cough. So the doctor said too that my immune system has been weakened from being sick, making it more susceptible to catching a bug. I'm not sure if it was the food I ate or maybe something I picked up at work, but I adore Chick-Fil-A and love eating there and am surprised to see all of the other comments on this website about the same symptoms I experienced.
