Soggy Sandwich Spurs Illness - Chick-Fil-A, Severna Park Maryland

5 months ago reported by user-bcjm8948 business

Chick-fil-A, Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD, USA

511 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, 21146 Maryland, United States

I am writing to report a suspected case of foodborne illness related to a meal I purchased from Chick-fil-A Store #03141, located at 511 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 121146. The order was placed via the Chick-fil-A app on July 26, 2025, at 3:25 PM, and the carry-out order number is xxxxxxxx. Upon receiving the boxed sandwich, I noticed that the paper it was wrapped in felt noticeably wet, which prompted me to inspect it before eating. About 10% of the bottom portion of the bun appeared soggy, and I ultimately removed that section and did not consume it. Additionally, the grilled chicken appeared abnormally pale and lacked any grill marks, which stood out to me as unusual. Despite these visual concerns, I dismissed them, attributing the differences to a possible change in the chicken preparation—especially given the brand’s reputation for food quality. Beginning around 11:00 AM on July 27, I experienced rapid fire flatulence, an atypical symptom for me. Approximately 19 hours after consumption, my condition worsened into severe gastrointestinal distress, including uncontrollable bowel movements, repeated restroom episodes, and physical exhaustion. This caused me to miss an entire day of work and required three emergency loads of laundry due to the severity of my symptoms. Given the timeline and intensity of symptoms, I believe the sandwich may have been improperly handled or undercooked. I respectfully requested a formal investigation into the food preparation practices at this location to ensure public safety and prevent similar incidents from affecting others, but I don't believe they took my Complaint serious. I submited a report in accordance with Anne Arundel County’s food facility complaint procedures. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Stomach Pain, Flatulence, Gas
