Food Safety Report - Giant Farmer's Market, Hackensack New Jersey

8 months ago reported by user-yzygx475 business

Giant Farmer's Market, Main Street, Hackensack, NJ, USA

324 Main Street, Hackensack, 07601 New Jersey, United States

Today is May 20, 2025. We bought 3 large cucumbers from Giant Farmer’s Market on May 18. Last night (May 19), I washed 1 of the cucumbers with soap & water, and chopped it into sticks to eat with my favorite soybean paste dip as an appetizer with our dinner. My boyfriend ate 1 stick and said the cucumber tasted funny. He ate one more stick and said it had an aftertaste like plastic. I ate about 6 sticks before I was convinced he was right and I tasted something “off” about it. I am not one to waste food or easily throw food away, but I did throw the rest of that cucumber away. Some hours later I experienced very bad diarrhea, and then about 6 hours later, I became so nauseous that I kept throwing up, even when it was down to just stomach acid. My boyfriend never got sick. The cucumbers were the ONLY difference between what I ate & what he ate. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting

I believe that there may be a recall for cucumbers right now. I hope you feel better soon.
