In 2011/2012, my now husband and I traveled to the Grand Bahia Principe Resort in Punta Cana, with direct airport transfers and several days spent at the resort in the Dominican Republic. During that time we ate and drank exclusively at the resort. On the last day of our stay, I became very ill and my husband went to the onsite health provider, who gave him some funny black pills to give to me. I took them, and they did nothing to make me feel better. I became increasingly ill as we flew to Minnesota, and in the car ride to a rural town there to visit family, got sick several times and had multiple seizures. I was taken to a hospital, where I recieved IV fluids, and spent several days sleeping, taking meds and recovering in a hotel. I was left very weak for multiple days until I recovered, and Drs assumed it was a microbe but no significant testing was completed. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Other, Weakness
