Maggots Found in Cookies - 7-Eleven, Singapore

7 years ago reported by user-gmrr4688 business

Harbourfront Walk, 7-Eleven, Vivocity, Singapore

1 Harbourfront Walk, Singapore, 098585 Singapore

Hi, I bought 3 pcs of Famous Amos Chocolate chip cookies on 17 Jan 2019 between 10am-11am. The company that I'm working for is in the same building (level 10) so i normally get my breakfast from this store. After consuming the 1st packet on (17 Jan 2019), a few hours later, i'm having headache, diarrhea and the feeling of wanting to vomit. I also had muscle aches. I ignored it and just took home medicine to minimize the symptoms. Then on (Monday 21 Jan 2019), I wanted to eat the Famous Amos cookie again so i took 1 packet and opened but only to find out that there were maggots inside. It's not a lot, but there were a few so it's not very noticeable if you're not careful enough. The package is totally sealed so I suspect those maggots were already there since I purchased it. At that point, I realized this cookies could be the culprit of my sickness. I have reported this issue to 7-Eleven but they were asking me for receipt of purchase. Actually, they can just check their CCTV based on the date and time of my purchase but they never did it. I showed to them the video of my cookie with the maggot but they didn't seem concerned at all. I contacted Famous Amos Singapore through facebook but they mentioned that they do not handle any pre-packaged products sold in supermarkets or convenience store. I hope 7-Eleven would at least do something to prevent other consumers from ingesting this contaminated cookie. Probably not everything, but better check. I have photos and video on the cookie with the maggot should they need proof. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Headache, Muscle Pain
