Glass Shards in Salad - Hard rock cafe, Punta Cana La Altagracia

6 years ago reported by user-mrrc8713 business

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Bv. Turístico del Este, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Boulevard Turístico del Este, Punta Cana, 23000 La Altagracia, Dominican Republic

Soon after arrival at the Hard Rock my wife and I ate at the Pizzeria in the late afternoon before dinner. I ordered salad with my pizza. The pizza tasted like cardboard with ketchup. The salad was served to me on a plate in a cracked glass vessel . When I asked "why is the salad served in this way", after getting the attention of the waitress. She responded by motioning with her hands to break into the vessel with my fork. I managed to do so with my fork. Shards of glass went all over the plate and mixed in the salad. The waitress did not speak a word of English. "Si, si , si " responded the waitress as she laughed as if I did not know and as if this was normal and walked away expecting me to eat shards of glass in salad. Crazy way to serve and eat salad if this is normal in the Dominican Republic.

That was my first experience of eating at the Hard Rock. My wife and I were ill most of our 6 day stay and for months after arriving home. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea
