Food Safety Report: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Bv. Turístico del Este, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Bv. Turístico del Este, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Boulevard Turístico del Este, Punta Cana, 23000 La Altagracia, Dominican Republic

We traveled to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, D.R. this past May/June for our honeymoon. On our first night there, my husband and I ordered Room Service (husband ate a Cesar Salad and I ate a Chicken dinner). We also each had a drink from the provided liquor bottles out of the minibar. I had a whiskey and Pepsi and my husband had a vodka and 7-up.
That evening, I got violently ill including vomiting and diarrhea. This lasted for almost 3 straight days. My husband had to get me Gatorade and plain crackers, and I could not keep those down for 2 days.
I do believe that I was part of the liquor problem as the offbranded liquor tasted weird. My husband picked at my chicken meal after he finished his salad and he did not get sick. I truly believe that the only thing my husband and I did not share was the whiskey. My husband was fine for the duration of the trip, but I was violently ill for 3 whole days and did not feel better until we returned to the United States (6 days after the initial sick evening).
We arrived May 28th 2019 and departed June 4th 2019. Our reservation will be in their system. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting
