I bought the sausage at Walmart on 5/19/2023Cooked for lunch about 1:30 on 5/20/23
At about 4:30 a.m. I woke up with horrible diarrhea, dizzy, pounding headache and ache over my entire body especially lower back. Also running a low grade fever for the entire day on Monday in bed …and part of into Tuesday morning early… Tuesday diarrhea not as violent, headache gone but body aches and low grade fever… Wednesday I feel weak and stomach feels like it has a knot in the middle. And sharper pain now and again. I was very very sick… and still weak.
I will call my doctor tomorrow to se if she thinks I may need antibiotic. I have Graves’ auto immune disease. I don’t know if I have defenses to fight this out of my system on my own.
I called Walmart … they told me that they could give me my money back and a $25 gift certificate.They took a report over phone
But said that Hillshire Farms is an individual vendor … and they inspect the expiration dates and keep up with recalls not Walmart.
My doctor bill and medicine will not be covered with a $25 gift certificate.
I took photos of the pkg that I bought… then went back to Walmart and took phots of expiation dates of the same Smoked Sausage … some of the dates were just like mind… smudged off… some dates were clearly stamped… some not stamped at all.
I was a customer of Walmart… and a big customer for Hillshire Farms Smoked sausage. I’m just Thankful that we had not bought for my Grandson’s Graduation day
On Saturday 27 May. We Would be feeding a crowd we would have felt awful making our family and friends sick too.
Sadly I will be scared to buy again… with no one taking responsibility on what they are putting in stores. And sad thing is … food is so very expensive… and then makes us sick. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Fever, Headache, Body Ache, Weakness, Stomach Pain, Dizziness
