I am 62 years old. I ate Cheerios my entire life with no problem until the last few years. I changed my cereal. I loved cheerios…so last night I raided the grandkids stash of Honey Nut Cheerios. Wife told me not to. I was sure my problems a few years ago wasn’t related to my favorite cereal. Sure enough…like clockwork…5 hours later I was awakened by stomach cramps and experienced diarrhea.Did I change - or did Cheerios?. The Cherrios were bought at either Giant or Walmart locally. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Cramps

Something has definitely changed. There was a recall not too long ago; and just about everyone who's ate (cheerios, lucky charms, etc) them for a little while now gets sick. I had the same reaction/experience you had as well.
Just happened to me for third time. Throwing out oat cluster Cheerios with honey. Bad!
Check for possible celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. It, and contamination of the oats with gluten, was the cause of the cheerios reaction in 2015.
