I bought Kroger brand pimento cheese at krogers on 7/8/2024 also not realizing it was jalapeño flavor. I ate some the following day and it was quite hot for jalapeño flavor and my stomach started to burn just a little afterward. That night I woke up with my stomach in pain and felt really bloated. I spent Wednesday mostly laying in bed and not sleeping too much. Took some alka seltzer and it helped a little. Tried to eat two scrambled eggs and maybe got one down between feelings of nausea. No diarrhea thankfully just a burning pain all over and bloating and extreme fatigue. Looked at the use by (not best by) and it said 7/4/2024. The product was still in the cooler five days after the use date. It’s two days later now and most of the pain is gone and I have a little energy and thinking about trying to eat some yogurt. I’ll be better at checking dates from now on. I usually do just to see if I’ll be able to use the product in time but I’ve never bought anything past its date especially a cheese product.
