“I think salad or steak I ate there 12/11/19 dinner @ approx 8pm. 2 diners. Only I got sick. We shared wild west shrimp. I had 12 oz ribeye med rare, garden salad w ranch, and sweet potato w butter and brown sugar. I ate 1/4 my salad... A fewbites... of the steak when I had to send it back...way too much pepper (tasted like the pepper cover had come off the shaker and dumped on steak, I took out phone and lit up steak and it looked like it was heavily coated in pepper) I ate the sweet potato while they got me another steak...this one came out with no spices on it at all. more rare than med rare. I ate approx 1/3. I took the rest home. Around 10-10:30 I felt stomach pain (gaseous type) and went to the bathroom. I started a very painful bowel movement when I became nauseous. At this point I was expelling from both ends violently. This continued throughout the night. Approx every 30-40 minutes. At around 2:30 am I took a fruit flavored rolaid. At 3 I got up and vomited again ( by this point it was mostly dry heaves and bile, with only mucous coming out the other end) this time there was red in the vomit material, I thought the rolaid maybe was the culprit ( I did not notice which color rolaid I had taken) so I noted it to myself. The next round came around 3:45 am... Again red in the vomit but this time there was also red on the mucous from my back end as well. I know that stuff does not go through the body that quick and suspected there was something else going on. I had my son take me to emergency room (we also brought the leftovers with us since I knew there was a chance it was the culprit) they did not want them for testing. I kept up with the vomiting, they gave me anti-nausea medicine (IV) and sent me for a scan and were getting ready to send me home when the vomiting started again. By this point my body was fully purged, dry heaves w/ only bile and only mucous out the other end. They ended up admitting me. I was not able to provide any stool sample for them to test as I was empty. The doctors said they thought it was a c-something in my gut that happens after antibiotics (something about good bacteria being killed and this c stuff going out of control... Took all kinds of precautions saying I may be very contagious. Problem with that is I have not had any type of antibiotics in more than 6 months. I may be able to go home from hospital this afternoon if I can tolerate solids. ”

“Service was great and food tasted good. The creamed corn tasted a little too smokey but didn't taste bad. I had the pork sandwich and my gf had a chicken sandwich. We had mac n cheese and pinto beans and creamed corn and mashed potatoes. Early the next day we... have been throwing up and have diarrhea. Sharp pains to our stomachs ”
“Last month my husband and I went there during Restaurant week and we ordered the calamari as our appetizer. We both were sick the next day, with all of the above symptoms. (didnt associate it to being the calamari because we ea there often). We had family members in town... this past weekend and we took them there. Again, ordered the calamari and everyone is sick with the same symptoms after eating the calamari. My husband called the restaurant this morning and was asked did we order the calamari!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was told we were the 3rd complaint regarding getting sick after eating the calamari . They took down our number to call us back???????? ”
“We ate the same food We ordered food for the night, 2 for one combo for R48 which inclues two steak burgers and along with that we ordered the chicken combo as which was slightly cheaper. Ever since the following day my father has been in the toilet early morning,... then after a while it was me. Then my brother and my mother. Clearly there is something wrong and therefore their food is contaminated ”
“February 1, 2020, at 1:47 PM. I purchased 3 Haagen Daz ice creams, 14 oz size, assorted flavors, at this store. The first one was consumed immediately, the same day. It appeared to be OK. The second one was consumed later that evening. The second one seemed to be OK,... but as I got closer to the bottom, it was obvious it had not been refrigerated properly. The bottom had melted and then refrozen, before I bought it. Ck'd my freezer, the thermometer showed a temp of minus 5 degrees F.
Developed nausea a few hours later that night, then extreme fatigue for the better part of a week, Notified the store manager, of the refrozen ice cream and asked him to ck with his vendor to try to prevent future occurrences. He sent me an email a few days later indicating he wanted to discuss it with me. Saw him Feb 7th, Thursday, at the store. I told him I wanted to discuss it as well but was in a hurry, would do it later when it was mutually convenient. He, not to be put off, followed me down the back stairs and started an apparently prepared speech. YOU ARE MAKING A LOT OF COMPLAINTS. IT SEEMS WE CAN'T PLEASE YOU. NO ONE HAS EVER COMPLAINED BEFORE. He even quoted the ice cream vendor, who was not present, as saying, he, the vendor had never a complaint about melted ice cream, he repeated his speech several more times with the additional filip that, "YOU WOULD BE HAPPIER GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE.”
As background, the store freezer, full of ice cream, had malfunctioned a short time before that. Many pints of ice cream had melted but were refrozen when the freezer came back on. I mentioned to him, at the time, those ice creams should be disposed of. The vendor or he may have been putting a few pints of refrozen, spoiled, ice cream back in the freezer in an attempt to minimize the dollar loss.
Whatever the cause, spoiled ice cream should not be sold. Telling customers to go somewhere else is not an effective way of dealing with concerns about spoiled products. They and the Health Department need to take the necessary steps to prevent future occurrences.
