Repeated Illness from Cereal - Lucky Charms, Elgin South Carolina

3 years ago reported by user-dhpp3755 business

Lucky charms cereal, Food Lion, Main Street, Elgin, South Carolina, USA

2465 Main Street, Elgin, 29045 South Carolina, United States

Three times over the past several months to extend back into 2021. The first time I got sick from eating the lucky charms cereal I didn't necessarily relate it to the cereal but thought possibly a stomach bug. About a week later I are the cereal again and within a few hour if eating it I was nauseous, had horrible stomach cramps and diarrhea just like the previous time I ate the cereal. The sickness lasted several hours and other than being a little dehydrated and feeling week for a while I returned to my normal state of health prior to eating the lucky charms. Thinking it may have been a coincidence I later tried to eat the cereal again about a month after the second incident. Again the cereal cause me severe stomach cramps nausea and diarrhea. Because this was the only thing I had eaten within several hours of getting sick, I concluded it had to be the cereal. I never reported anything because I assumed it must be some allergy specific to me and up until now I had not heard any reports of anyone else experiencing this issue. I'm 51 years old and have eaten this cereal throughout my childhood and adult life without incident. My wife shared this post with me yesterday because she remembered me telling her I couldn't eat the cereal anymore and that I had thrown a practically full box in the trash and for her not to buy anymore. I think there is definitely something here related to the cereal, ingredients or possible the preparation area but it needs to be seriously addressed before something much worse happens more than cramps and stomach sickness. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Cramps
