The resort itself was really nice and it was until I got ill special time with my boyfriend, so it does make me sad bringing myself to write this. The food in the hotel we stayed at wasn't great from the offset, it was quite greasy and the hygiene was very questionable. Lots of food left sitting out at buffets. Hot food was served luke warm and salads and stuff was left out in hot temperatures and uncovered attracting insects and flies. One night I ate some fish in sauce at the buffet and after taking one mouthful I noticed it had a funny taste and texture. Fast forward 24 hours I began experiencing crippling tummy pains, sickness and fever. When I got home I had to go straight to the hospital, here I was kept in for a week and diagnosed with Infective Acute gastroenteritis, colitis and inflamed bowel. The doctor said this is normally caused by nasty strains of bacteria/pathogens found in foods abroad and given the time frame I will have contracted it during my stay in the DM. Fast forward 5 weeks and I am still not well and its safe to say I wont be returning to the DM ever | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Gas
