Burrito ER Visit: Salmonella - McDonald's, Phoenix Arizona

10 years ago reported by user-vtvp1726

McDonald's, West Union Hills Drive, Phoenix, AZ, United States

626 West Union Hills Drive, Phoenix, 85027 Arizona, United States

This occurred on 3/11/16, my husband had ordered drive thru and when he came home the breakfast burrito and the boys hash browns were missing. He went back with the receipt and they gave him the missing food. I'm the only person that ate a burrito and the only one sick. I ate at 9:45am, diarrhea started at 11:45am, and the vomiting at 12:50pm. I was in the ER with dehydration, vomiting everything, diarrhea, and severe pain in the ribs and shoulder blade. I was diagnosed with food poisoning, salmonella, strained muscles, and dehydration. I spent 4 hours in the ER getting fluids, pain meds to help with being able to move or lay down without pain, and 2 different nausea meds to stop the vomiting so I could keep water down. I was finally nausea free 7 days later and on a normal diet after 2 weeks. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Fever, Vomiting, Dehydration
