LHR Lounge Gyros Illness - My Lounge Heathrow Terminal 3, Hounslow England

5 days ago reported by user-zdzh5535 business

My Lounge Heathrow Terminal 3, Nelson Road, Wallis Rd, Longford, Hounslow, UK

Wallis Rd, Hounslow, TW6 2GB England, United Kingdom

I visited the My Lounge at LHR on Saturday the 14th from around 3:00 PM for approximately three hours. During my visit, I ate two types of gyros (both varieties that were available) and what I believe was a bean salad. For drinks, I had Sprite from the self-service soda fountain. While on my flight afterward, I began to feel mild nausea, but I initially assumed it was due to motion sickness and did not think much of it. However, about six hours after eating (approximately three hours into the flight and while traveling onward to my final destination), I vomited a significant amount. I expected the symptoms to subside, but the following day I developed a fever along with diarrhea and continued vomiting. The fever lasted for about 36 hours after the initial vomiting episode but then resolved fairly quickly. At first, I suspected a seasonal viral infection such as influenza due to being in a crowded airplane environment. However, two antigen tests were negative. Considering the rapid onset of nausea leading to vomiting, the timing (about six hours after eating), and the relatively short duration of fever, it is very difficult to conclude anything other than food poisoning. | Symptoms: Vomiting, Diarrhea, Nausea, Fever
