I visited Dominican Republic (Nickelodeon Resort) May 18-22. On May 20th at about 10pm, I started to feel ill after drinking some alcohol at their late night bar. Within minutes I had to run to the bathroom and had explosive diahrea. That night, I was having severe stomach cramps, diahrea, sweating, and nausea. I was going to the restroom 2-3x every hour. My stool was bright yellow. The next morning, we called the front desk and they told me that they could not treat me unless I had travelers insurance. I told them I did not, so they said it would cost me $180 to be seen. I did not have that much $ to pay at the time. All day on the 21st I was bedwritten. I couldn't drink water, and all I ordered was bread from roomservice but everytime I ate, I had the explosive diahrea. That night I tried to go to their white party, but refused to eat and had to go back to my room because I felt weak. On May 22nd, I left the resort to fly to Orlando, and I had explosive diahrea before my flight. the diahrea lasted for 3 more days, I had to take Imodium to help stop me from using the restroom on myself when I got to Orlando. I lost about 10 pounds. I fell ill again the following week and had to call out of work. My friend also got sick, but not as severe as me. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Cramps, Weakness, Sweating
