Squash Soup Sickness Strikes - Panera Bread, Chula Vista California

11 months ago reported by user-rpmz4546 business

Panera Bread, Broadway, Chula Vista, CA, USA

555 Broadway, Chula Vista, 91910 California, United States

I had food poisoning on December 15,2023 ,after eating squash soup there just past 3PM.I didn't eat anything else with it, and haven't consumed anything bad before, and after about 45 mins felt nauseous. I took charcoal pill, but didn't help, and then started horrible vomiting and diarrhea, at the same time! Never had anything like this before in my life. This continued into the late evening, all system was totally "cleaned"! But to this day, Dec.20th,I'm still feeling nauseous, don't have appetite. After the incident I can't stand smell of curry or other exotic spices(that they were in the soup),and I liked those before. My husband ate different soup and sandwich and he was OK,so definitely problem was the squash soup.

My sense is that spices that they used there are/were contaminated, or somebody used some dirty water, or servers didn't wash their hands, who knows, but definitely it's totally unacceptable. Also, prices are confusing, no clarity at all how much each item cost. Probably done on purpose, showing on the menu on the wall(as in :pick 2") that items are reasonably priced, but in reality they 're not. Panera Bread, when it opened originally, was good place to go,but all went dawn hill gradually. We gave a try, after not going there for a few years, but after this incident, definitely we're not coming back. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting
