Campylobacter Outbreak from Chicken - Popeyes, Philadelphia Pennsylvania

2 years ago reported by user-hydwk323 business

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Chestnut St, Philly, PA, USA

1516 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, 19102 Pennsylvania, United States

10/29/22 stopped into this location. It was bad news from start, disgusting, worker dropped our cups on the floor, picked them up and handed them to us to use anyway. Restaurant was gross and in disarray. Only one bathroom open and it was covered in liquid of some sort. I ordered a chicken sandwich, 2 of my kids also ordered chicken, my other son and his friend ordered Mac and cheese. All of us that ordered chicken got sick. I have been sick since the night of 10/30, was in the hospital 11/4 with severe dehydration from round the clock vomiting and diarrhea. Had many tests run, just got results that the bacteria Campylobacter was found in one of my cultures. I spoke to the CDC yesterday and describing my experience they agreed this is food poisoning from here. I couldn’t eat anything at all from 10/31 to 11/6, down 20lbs, diarrhea turned into all blood for 3 days. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Dehydration, Loss of Appetite
