Teen Sick after Cheese Pizza - Purdy's Public House & Arcade, Sumner Washington

2 years ago reported by user-zzgh3648 business

Purdy's Public House & Arcade, 64th Street East, Sumner, WA, USA

16202 64th Street East, Sumner, 98390 Washington, United States

We think it might have been cheese pizza from a restaurant. He's a 13yr old boy. He at a personal cheese pizza, drank a Shirley Temple along with A Roy Rogers with his meal. He was vomiting within a couple hrs of being home. No one else in our party ate his pizza or has gotten sick. The restaurant was having kitchen issues with cold clam chowder and cold hot sandwiches. I think that they were under staffed possibly. He is starting to feel a little better this morning. | Symptoms: Vomiting, Nausea

Responding regarding the sick child... The same cheese would have been used on the pizzas, and other foods, requiring cheese. I do wonder however if perhaps the sugar from both drinks wasn't too much. They both super sweet and enough to make anyone sick. Also, they both have grenadine. But I'm not sure that would be it either. However...the maraschino cherries on the other hand, depending on how they were handled and stored, could make someone sick. Especially if the person handling them are doing so with bare hands. Just something to think about.
