Severe Mussel Poisoning Symptoms - Costco, Concord California

1 year ago reported by user-drtbj918 business

Sogel Mussels, Costco Wholesale, Monument Boulevard, Concord, CA, USA

2400 Monument Boulevard, Concord, 94520 California, United States

I ate Sogel mussels on Friday, January 10 around 4 pm. I felt vomit coming and vomited over many times. At the same time I started having diarrhea although only water was coming out. My entire digestive system was severely compromised. I could not climb the stairs to reach my bathtub due to the severity of my abdomen being totally paralyzed. I almost died. The feeling of being stuffed with poison was so severe that I know I was dying. I could not reach my phone in order to call 911. This made me continue sitting on the toilet seat releasing more and more water and vomiting at the same time. All this happened even though I cooked the mussels for at least 30 minutes on the stove. It is supposed to be fully cooked and they give a 3 minute preparation on the package. I cooked until tender but still the poison bacteria was not destroyed. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Chills

Unfortunately, a lot of frozen shellfish (including oysters, clams, mussels, etc.) have been recalled due to causing norovirus for people, which is one of the reasons why there's a massive spike in stomach bug/food poisoning cases right now. I hope you feel better soon! Avoid seafood at this time. Even frozen produce.
