My family got carry out from here. Not a place I normally eat. They brought it home and we had dinner together. I had a steak fillet salad. I was the only one that had it. This was Friday evening around 7:30PM. About an hour ago I started having extreme cramps and lots of gas. Then I started throwing up. I can’t keep anything down even sips of water. If I do I start vomiting about 30 seconds to a minute later. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Cramps, Gas
Couldn’t a lot of these kinds of reports just be a stomach bug?

Hi, thanks for your comment. According to the CDC “stomach bug” is one of the common ways to call Norovirus, along with “stomach flu”. Norovirus is a very contagious virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea and it is the leading cause of foodborne illness. You can get norovirus from: - Having direct contact with an infected person. - Consuming contaminated food or water. - Touching contaminated surfaces and then putting your unwashed hands in your mouth.
Sounds like people can pick up norovirus ANYWHERE and then associate it with the last place they ate.

Hi, thanks for your comment. According to the CDC, you may hear norovirus illness be called “food poisoning,” “stomach flu,” or “stomach bug.” Noroviruses are the leading cause of foodborne illness, but other germs and chemicals can also cause foodborne illness.
