My 40-year-old son ate a sub sandwich at Subway late on Wednesday, 04/25/18. By Sunday evening, 04/29/18, he had developed severe diarrhea and cramping, which continued for two days. On Tuesday evening, 05/01/18, I took him to the emergency room because he had several episodes of bloody diarrhea and the cramping was more severe. After a CAT scan, he was diagnosed with colitis and was given two IVs because he was dehydrated; through the IV, both antibiotics and steroids were administered, and he was released with two antibiotic prescriptions and one steroid prescription. It is anticipated that a stool specimen culture test will reveal that the source of the colitis is an E. coli infection. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Cramps
