Green cabbage is contaminated with fungus. I bought yesterday one head of green cabbage and have noticed black spots on the upper leaves, I removed them and cooked salad, but unfortunately, salad got that mold flavor, it was impossible not to notice that, even there was no black spots deeper inside.
I believe that storage conditions are not properly met. The they sell cabbage wet and constantly spray all vegetables with build-in sprinkles at the retail department. Why?! Just to make it look fresh?! But you are growing mold and fungus in the cabbages and other vegetables. Advise - move cabbage to a different shelves, that contains no water sprinklers.
