Chickpea Gel Causes Illness - Whole Foods Market, Washington District of Columbia

4 years ago reported by user-qbfbr242 business

Whole Foods Market, P Street Northwest, Washington, DC, USA

1440 P Street Northwest, Washington, 20005 District of Columbia, United States

canned chickpeas I opened a can of 365 chickpeas on March 16. They seemed to be in gel and had a faint odor, but I rinsed some and put them in a salad. Early March 18 I woke in the night with stomach cramps. Breakfast in the morning triggered more. I felt better by afternoon and made the mistake of eating the remains of the salad (with chickpeas picked out, of course) and then wound up vomiting the morning of March 20, again just over a day after eating anything that touched those chickpeas. | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Cramps
