The FSIS has issued a public health alert for Wegmans Jamaican Jerk-style, raw, marinated chicken products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The marinade in the chicken products may contain milk, soy, and wheat, known allergens, which are not declared on the product label. Although the products... See More are no longer for sale, they were distributed in Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania. So far, no adverse reactions have been reported.

The affected products are:
1-lb. vacuum-packed plastic packages containing “Wegmans jamaican jerk style Chicken Thighs” with a use by date of “9/6/23.”
1-lb. vacuum-packed plastic packages containing “Wegmans jamaican jerk style Chicken Breast Cutlets” with a use by date of “9/6/23.”

These products were produced on August 16, 2023 and bear the establishment number "EST. P-7567" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered when the establishment notified FSIS that it identified an equipment malfunction that may have led to potential cross-contamination with milk, soy, and wheat, known allergens, which are not declared on the product labels.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.

In case you experienced harm from allergens or undeclared ingredients, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.

I feel like the remaining half of this quiche should go for testing, the store reprimanded & fined, and I should have ALDI pay me at least a modern full days wage (circa £200) compensation, and a complimentary voucher, though I think this is just a reporting hub that won't yield a legit actioned result for the consumer. Following this report, and in an ideal world, ALDI's remaining batch of quiches would be immediately removed from that store. I want to note that I have had these one time before in Fall 2022 and then all of a sudden they were nowhere to be found. I had no issues when I ate them. Now, I went to Costco Fall 2023 and they’re there and I... See More was so excited so I bought two boxes. I have eaten one bag (over the course of weeks) and just opened the other. I had never felt sick when I ate them in the previous weeks, but two days ago I woke up in the wee hours and my stomach felt bleh and I had diarrhea. I attested that to something else. But then just last night I woke up and felt something was off and I literally could not go back to sleep. I felt nauseated but I couldn’t throw up so I ended up making myself throw up and that worked. I had eaten some Sweet Carolina hot Cheetos earlier that night as well as the tacos.
