Irvington Seafood of Irvington, AL, is recalling its 1 lb. packages of "Crabmeat: Jumbo, Lump, Finger, and Claw meat" because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people,... See More and others with weakened immune systems. The recalled "Crabmeat: Jumbo, Lump, Finger, and Claw meat" were distributed to distributors located in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem
Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The product comes in a 1 lb. containers, package marked with license number AL 111-C with the company name “Irvington Seafood.” Please look for the following batch number written on the bottom of the container: 130, 131, 132, 134, 137, 139, 141, 144, 145, 146,148, 150.
The potential for contamination was noted on 05/27/22 after FDA tested on 05/09/22. FDA revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes on cooking equipment and cooking room. No crabmeat has been tested but product may have potentially been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes due to cross contamination.
The company has decided to do a voluntary recall to ensure the safety of our consumers. The production of the product has been suspended while FDA and the company continue to investigate the source of the problem. Consumers who have purchased 1 lb. packages of "Crabmeat" are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Went to chipotle last night around 9:00pm where i waited over 30 minutes to get my food, as the line was very long. Please please use this opportunity to make better decisions regarding where you eat. I would not have waited that long at all. If I could count how many food poisoning issues I see come from Chipotle!!. It seems as if one of these reports comes out about Chipotle at least once a week. When are people going to stop eating here? This place is terrible. I’d recommend Sbarro, or Sonic or Chic Fil A as far as mall food court restaurants go. Glad you are okay but… Mall food courts are already highly sus. This is like ordering chicken from a street vendor. Good that you stopped when you realized it. Just please do yourself a favor and never eat at Chipotle again. It’s terrible food.

The FSIS is issuing a public health alert for canned meat product (SPAM Classic) due to under-processing. This product was shipped to H.E.B. retail locations in Texas. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. A recall was not requested... See More because it is believed that the product is no longer available for consumers to purchase.
The affected product is:
- 12-oz. metal cans containing "SPAM Classic" with "BEST BY AUG 2026" date and lot code A08173 printed on the bottom of the can. The canned meat item was produced by Hormel Foods Corp. Services, LLC, an Austin, Minn. establishment, on Aug. 17, 2023.
The product bears establishment number "EST. 199" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The problem was discovered when the firm reported that they inadvertently shipped product that may not have been adequately processed to reach commercial sterility.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers' pantries or refrigerators. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.

That is not an allergic reaction, especially considering this person has likely ordered this before. They need to make sure these fast food restaurants are cleaning their machines properly. Sounds like listeria to me.

Hi, thanks so much for your comment. It's possible to get food poisoning from store-bought ice cream or from a shop. Salmonella commonly reported diagnosis. In the past, ice cream has been recalled for Salmonella and linked to an outbreak that hospitalized 11.
