Grand County Schools in Utah linked to Norovirus outbreak

An outbreak of norovirus has been confirmed at Grand County Schools by the Southeast Utah Health Department. Their spokesperson said the Utah Public Health Laboratory confirmed the gastrointestinal illness to be norovirus on May 16 via testing of stool sample kits. So far, 35 cases have been reported.

The health department is urging students with symptoms to stay home until their symptoms have ceased for 48 hours. The department is also asking that siblings of students attending Grand County Schools who have similar symptoms to stay home from their schools as well.
