Multi-country European Salmonella outbreak linked to melons

FSN informs about a large salmonella Braenderup outbreak linked to melons. More than 200 people have been reported infected from at least 14 countries.

The United Kingdom's Food Safety Agency reported that the possible source of the salmonella outbreak in the United Kingdom is thought to be whole honeydew, cantaloupe, and galia melons originating from Costa Rica, Honduras or Brazil bought on or before 28 May 2021.

According to the news, the number of reported cases by country is the following: United Kingdom(52), Canada (1), France (1), Germany (49), Netherlands (13), Denmark (27), Norway (5), Sweden (36), Belgium (42), Finland (3), Ireland (4), Spain (2), Switzerland (15) and Czech Republic (4).
