Norovirus Outbreak Linked to Frozen Raw Half-Shell Oysters from the Republic of Korea

5 months ago source fda.gov

United States

Wang Globalnet has recalled frozen, raw, half-shell oysters processed by JBR KR-15-SP in the Republic of Korea due to potential norovirus contamination. The outbreak has affected consumers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, and Utah.

The affected oysters, identified by Lot Code: B250112, were harvested on January 12, 2025, from Designated Area No. 1 in the Republic of Korea.

The issue was discovered on July 16, 2025, when the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food notified the FDA of norovirus illnesses linked to the oysters. Following this, Wang Globalnet initiated a recall on July 21, 2025. The FDA continues to monitor the situation and is working with state authorities to manage the outbreak and prevent further cases.
