“The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 3,365 pounds of Chinese style hot pot base products containing beef tallow by Rong Shing Trading Inc. doing business as Double R Trading Inc. because the products were imported from the People’s Republic of China, a country ineligible to export beef to... See Morethe United States. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ homes. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase

The Chinese style hot pot base products were imported on or around February 14, 2020. The following products are subject to recall:

- 450g Plastic vacuum wrapped packages containing a “Lee’s 52° Da Zhuang” Hot Pot Base and a Sell By date of January 29, 2022 on the label.

- 300g Plastic vacuum wrapped packages containing a “Lee’s 45° Da Zhuang” Hot Pot Base and a Sell By date of June 30, 2021 on the label.

The product labels are written in the Chinese language. Refer to the label link here for additional product information. The products do not bear an establishment number nor a USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

Recall details: Kareem Mart of Garden City, MI,is recalling its 1lb and 2lb Kareem Chef brand “Halva”, “Halva with Pistachi... See Moreo”, and “Halva with Chocolate” food treats because they have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infection in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, producing more severe illnesses infections.

The recalled “Halva” were distributed through Mediterranean food stores and wholesalers in Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, New York, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.  Between March 2020 to Feb 2021. Please do not consume the product and immediately dispose of the product or return to 32816 Manor Park Garden City MI 48135. Or to the place of purchase. And send us a note to the email: recalls@kareemmart.com with the return receipt and product purchase date for a full refund.

The products come in 1lb and 2lb plastic tubs. There is only one lot distributed. With Best Before 07-01-2022. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the problem. The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing from samples in the stores by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD).

Production of the product has been suspended while the FDA and the company continue their investigation as to the source of the problem.

“Fish tacos or steak Street tacos I got the food at around 12:30pm and ate two fish tacos and potato holes with cheese and sour cream and then ate 1 steak street taco and then around 3pm I was waiting to get my tire fixed at local tire shop and I started feeling warm and sweating and it was 37 degree... See Mores outside this day. I didn't think much of it. Then in way home after tire shop my stomach started hurting very bad. It was cramping and feeling bloated and I was nauseous and felt weak and headache. I got home around 4pm and immediately ran to my bathroom and started violently throwing up and I never throw up. I dont recall the last time I had thrown up. It had been atleast a couple years prior to this that I recall throwing up. I could not stop for almost 20 mins this first time. I felt line death by this time and thought a bath may help. So I ran water and crawled into the bath and then I felt nauseous again so leaned over to the toilet and proceed to vomit on and off for the next 30 mins. Then I started getting blurred vision and headache got worse and I started getting the extreme chills. I was in warm bath water so everytime I tried to try and get out of the bath I was stopped by the extreme coldness I would feel. It's the coldest I ever felt. I LAY See Less”

We had 4 spring rolls, 6 dim sims steamed, prawn crackers stale, duck which tasted like pork and scallops with ginger sauce also their deluxe fried rice.
