I ate at this store on Thursday as well and had the SunChips. I dug them out of the trash to check the date at it says 3/12/24 plus I’m not sure how rancid a corn chip would have to be to actually get salmonella poisoning from it…. I call BS.

I started experiencing intestinal cramps. Then, when we got back to the hotel, the nausea started. That's when my spouse told me she had been feeling ill as well. She was the first to vomit and I followed there after. We struggled to finish packing for the morning flight. We only had fluids in the form of water and apple juice for the entire journey. She only experienced nausea, intestinal cramps and vomiting. I on the other hand had all the symptoms including chills, nausea, intestinal cramps, vomiting, fever and diarrhea. My condition gradually improved, and three days later I'm back to normal.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Actually, Norovirus is the leading cause of illness from contaminated food in the United States, and it's indeed a virus. It is common to pass along a secondary infection to a third party. So it is possible they got it from the chips, and then passed it on to the husband afterward, even though he didn't eat that.
The CDC writes about Norovirus: "People with norovirus illness are most contagious from the moment they begin feeling ill and for the first few days after they recover. Some people may be contagious for even longer."
