Most people don't know this. Gatorade WILL dehydrate you if you drink to much ( water it down) or if you're on the verge of dehydration. This is due to its high sodium content. Good luck, hope it's nothing more serious.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Actually, Norovirus is the leading cause of illness from contaminated food in the United States, and it's indeed a virus. It is common to pass along a secondary infection to a third party. So it is possible they got it from the chips, and then passed it on to the husband afterward, even though he didn't eat that. The CDC writes about Norovirus: "People with norovirus illness are most contagious from the moment they begin feeling ill and for the first few days after they recover. Some people may be contagious for even longer."
