Suspected food poisoning. Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain
Suspected source: frozen strawberries
Onset: Less than 4 hours

that week with the same result. I did not vomit when eating the protein shake by itself. it happened on two separate occasions and both times the only common denominator was the strawberries added to my protein shake. I have since eaten the protein shake from the same container, without problem. This occurred about a month ago. I have been trying to figure it out on my own when I came across your site. My diet is fairly consistent and I do not eat at restaurants or fast food. I eat the same things every day with a variation for dinner. I found it perplexing that I only vomited (it was remarkable that the event was very forceful - my husband described it as violent) and did not have diarrhea, fever, etc. Once my stomach was empty, it was over. My stomach was upset for another 24 hours and I only ate a few pretzels. I was tired and napped, but no other physical symptoms.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain

on bottle, because the bottle date for them is the manufacturing date. So according to web sites, it's not supppsed to be expired or rancid. When opening the bottle, it made a cracking sound, as bottles do when they have never been opened before. I took a huge dip and swallowed it fast, as I was trying to hurry to go to bed. The second I swallowed the sip, I tasted a horrible rancid/sour taste, and my stomach started burning immediately. It was instant. It was the same burn as you get when you swallow a " shot" of liquor, but even more intense. I instantly got nauseaus, and started burping. The burning was horrible in my stomach. I picked up the bottle, to check date, and I could smell a very potent, rancid type smell coming from it. It had the lid on, and the smell was still absolutely vile. I knew instantly something was very wrong. My stomach continued burning for 1.5 hours after I took the big sip, and when I woke up this morning, the entire right side of my stomach area hurts. I have sharp, aching pains in my right side. The pains have been occurring for about 2 hours now. I feel like my stomach is getting sick, and I have the feeling like I have to run to the bathroom in a minute. I'm getting the feeling that I'm about to have diareah. I'm worried because I've never drank/eaten anything that tasted and smelled so putrid. I don't know what happened to the drink. I did notice a clear/crystal/crusty type substance on the top of the bottle though after further inspection. I have not touched the drink anymore, and have not pouted out the liquid to see what it looks like. I talked to 2 nurses, and they told me if my symptoms progress to go to urgent care, to call the company and report, and to call the store I purchased it from, which is kroger.  | Symptoms: Stomach Pain, Cramps, Nausea, Burping
