weak from dehydration and strain that I could not walk and had to be put in a wheelchair to make it through customs. I could not keep anything down (water, Gatorade, ginger ale), and was becoming more dehydrated every time I was sick. I went to the hospital when we got home from the airport and our families saw how pale and weak I was. The ER gave me an IV with saline and anti-nausea medication so I could begin to re-hydrate. They monitored me and did some bloodwork and said that whatever I had must be viral because no bacteria was showing up in my bloodwork. After being discharged, I went home. The next morning, I felt like I was going to die. My fever was 104 most of the second day & my body and head was so achy that I could not even open my eyes. It was the most awful feeling I have ever experienced. A few days later, my wife began to experience the same symptoms as me, but milder.

asked my niece which had gone with me on vacation to run to the store in the resort and get me some Gatorade and anything she could find to help with the diarrhea, all she was able to find at the small resort store was peptobismo and sprite. I then contacted the front desk to please send someone to buy me Gatorade and Imodium outside of the resort which they did, but nothing seem to help. That day I could not leave my room all day. Day three, after drinking at least 5 gatorades and going to the bathroom at least 20 times I took the Imodium and tried to enjoy what was left of my vacation without being able to drink or eat anything for the remaining if my stay except for Gatorade. After returning home I was still feeling sick for about two weeks, took probiotics for 2 -3 weeks but still not feeling 100%. Actually have a doctor appointment this week to run all kinds of test on me to see what it could possibly be.

had the flu coming on. The rest of the vacation, 5 days had little appetite suffered fever diarrhea and coughing like a fool., This happened in the second week of January 2019. Only I was ill and the nay one to drink gin. Also I had a blood test unrelated to this event that returned concerns about my liver. It took a couple of weeks before I was a 100%. I seriously thought of this as contracting the flu but think it too coincidental that it would hit me the way it did.

On Day 2 of our vacation I got upper and lower GI issues unable to function for a while Day. As a result I was extremely dehydrated. Still not fully recovered and plan to see a physician as I am back in the USA

admitted for five days. Parasite from contaminated food or water. Only drank bottled water and did not eat the food baking in the hot sun on the beach with no ice. Was sick for over three weeks. Never felt so ill in my life. We have traveled around the world and have never had such a bad experience.

so hot to the touch. At first we thought he had heat stroke but the symptoms weren’t quite matching up. I set an alarm and checked on him every hour of the night. I even had my stuff packed and ready to seek emergency care. I tried to help subside his fever and cool him down by taking bottles from the mini fridge and stick them under his arm pits and groin area. Diarrhea was the worst ever and he has had giardia before. This wa afar worst. We waited it out and by morning I too was sick. Not as extreme symptoms as his but still the same symptoms. I had the most severe stomach cramps of my life and my heart rate has never felt so fast. We both stayed in our room for the next 2 days only venturing out for water and granola bars that we tried to eat. The flight home was miserable. We both felt nauseous for a total of 8 days. My husband lost 10lbs.
