The recall is due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, sesame seeds, which is not declared on the product label. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

The raw, frozen lamb and beef samsa items were produced between Jan. 2, 2024, and Feb. 22, 2024 and have a shelf-life of one year. The products bear the establishment number “EST. 18832” inside the USDA mark of inspection:
- 16-oz. plastic-wrapped tray packages containing “SAMSA HALAL” with “USE BEFORE” dates of 01/02/25 through 02/22/25.
- 12-oz. plastic-wrapped tray packages containing “M&P DELICACIES Lamb Dumplings Lamb Samsa” with “USE BEFORE” dates 01/02/25 through 02/22/25.
